Time to Prepare

As the international language of business, English plays a crucial role in underpinning frictionless trade within the European Union. But that may change. Amid the fallout from the Brexit vote, there have been calls to strip English of its “official” and “working” language status.  It seems unlikely that the use of English will be phased out but as this White Paper discovers, it is Europe’s most popular second language and any erosion of its status could slow both trade and the passage of legislation. Now is the time for businesses and their legal advisers to prepare.
